Meet The Artists
In the summer of 2024, We had the honor of being a part of the "Olmec Trails" - A project hosted by the Mexican Cultural Center DuPage. We formed part of an ambitious collaboration involving 33 creators from across North America and Mexico. Our group found a rhythm that transcended the work itself. Long days painting turned into evenings of community, connection, and creation. In these moments, we shared not only our talents but our stories, cultures, and dreams.
As Mexican Americans, we live in a space between—"ni de aquí ni de allá"—too Mexican for Americans, too American for Mexicans. But in that space, we’ve discovered something powerful: the duality of our heritage is not a divide but a fusion, a bridge that connects us to both worlds. Guided by the words of Casa Michoacán’s Director—“México es donde están los mexicanos”—we embraced the truth that home is where we stand together, creating and celebrating our roots.
This journey inspired "Nuestra Tierra: Here and There," an exhibition that blends tradition and innovation, ancestry and modernity. It’s a love letter to our dual identities, told through murals, sculptures, and paintings, including the vibrant mural we created together in Pilsen—a testament to the beauty of our unity.
We are proud to share this experience with you. Each brushstroke, each sculpture, each piece of this exhibition tells a story of resilience, pride, and the unbreakable bond between cultures. We invite you to step into our world, to feel the heartbeat of Nuestra Tierra, and to celebrate the vibrant spirit of being both here and there.
Meet the creators who brought this vision to life and let their art inspire your soul. This is more than an exhibition—it’s a celebration of identity, community, and the endless possibilities that arise when cultures collide and create.
